First, it's important to understand what a human body needs to get a great night's sleep.
While every body is somewhat differently shaped, the fundamentals remain the same for all of us....firm support for our spines and a comfortable sleeping surface for pressure point relief, muscle relaxation and ease of blood flow. One is not more important than the other. Both are critical for a deep, restful night's sleep.
The best scenario is a firm mattress and a layer of soft Talalay latex.
*****
When buying a new mattress, look for something firmer than you like. It will give you the support you need and the soft Talalay latex topper will do the rest.
Having the surface as latex, produces a unique, zero gravity feel. You sink in a little, but you won't sink through it. The buoyancy of latex provides unparalleled comfort. The resiliency will lengthen the life of the mattress under it, as the latex will absorb much of your body weight.

Many of you are buying a latex topper to improve the quality of your sleep on a mattress you already own. Those of you looking to soften the surface of a mattress that is too firm, the 2" Soft Talalay latex topper does the most effective job for the vast majority...with the 1.5" being not quite enough and the 3" being too much.
*****
The 3" Soft Talalay latex topper on a too firm mattress works best for petite females who, because of their lack of body weight, don't exert enough downward pressure for the 2" to be enough. Specifically right for females because even petite women will flair at the hip. Being wider at the hip and petite makes the 3" soft Talalay the best choice. This does not apply to smaller males, or females that are slender at the hip. For you, the 2" soft Talalay latex topper will do nicely.
(Petite females at 5'0"/100 Lb...extending that range proportionately in height and weight)

As I pointed out, a latex topper will extend the life of the mattress you own...and extend it by quite a few years. If you are happy with the feel of your mattress and are more interested in getting the most out of the money you spent for your mattress, the 1.5" latex topper would be a prudent choice.
The question remains, "Which one?". Base that decision on the feel of the mattress you have....soft, medium or firm and add the Talalay latex of the same feel.
The 1.5" Soft Talalay latex topper added to a child's beds will produce the same quality of sleep.
We all do better during the day when we sleep well. Everyone has experienced that.
School age children encounter an enormous amount of information that they are expected to commit to memory. A deep, uninterrupted night's sleep will make it easier for them to remember what they've learned. During REM sleep, their school lessons will download into their memory banks, just as you download information onto a computer. The result?. They will get better grades without having to study as hard...more time for fun, which is also a critical part of human development.

It's so much easier to soften a mattress that is too firm than it is to firm up a mattress that is too soft. A firm Talalay latex topper will do that job. This should be considered if your mattress is fairly new and just too soft. For an older mattress that has lost it's shape and will soon need to be replaced, a firm latex topper is merely a band-aid and not likely usable on whatever new mattress you buy. For those of you with severe back problems, who mistakenly purchased a memory foam mattress after being told it would help...and finding out too late that it just made matters worse, do not buy a firm latex topper for it. Instead, flip your mattress over and sleep on the harder underside for a couple of nights before deciding which topper to use with that side. More than likely, the 2" soft Talalay will be right for that.

So, where does the Dunlop latex topper come in?
Talalay has an extra step in the processing that makes it more supple and the right choice as a comfort layer. Dunlop settles more during processing and is more dense than Talalay. While Talalay is right for comfort, Dunlop is right for support.
If you simply can't afford a new mattress to replace the one you have that has lost it's support, Dunlop is a good choice. For those of you who carry extraordinary body weight, Dunlop is a good choice.
For a child's first mattress, consider 6" of Dunlop instead of a conventional mattress. When your child reaches school age, add a 2" soft Talalay latex topper to that for the surface comfort that will enhance their academic career.

Latex is the highest quality material available. However, there are cheap latexes out there. A cheap latex will have clay fillers and/or blended with synthetics. The US imports a lot of latex from China...and God knows what they put in it.
The latex we offer is the best on the market...100% pure latex with NO fillers, NO synthetics, and NO Chemicals.
"Solo il meglio", my grandfather and father used to tell me. "Only the best" will give you the best value for your dollar.
Take a moment to read the Testimonials at the bottom of our LATEX PAGE. Everyone sleeps better on a latex topper. Some of the reports are astounding.
Thanks, Pete
