Hi Pete,
I am absolutely livid over my mattress warranty claim being denied.
We bought a very expensive memory foam mattress at the end of last year.
In just a few months, we noticed body impressions forming on the mattress.
By the time Summer rolled around, the back pain we were having with our old mattress returned.
So, I called the store where I bought it to register a complaint.
They sent an inspector who measured the body impressions.
He told us right then and there that the body impressions were deep enough to get a new mattress.
But then they said that the perspiration stains on the mattress voided the warranty.
No one told me anything about any of this at the time we bought the mattress.
The store won't exchange this mattress and I can't afford a new one.
I'm still making payments on this one.
And, we can no longer sleep on this one without feeling the pain.
We need your help. Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks, Ralph
Hi Ralph,
A waterproof mattress protector is a 'must have' for every mattress in your home.
Here's a link to the S&B Organic Cotton Waterproof Mattress Protector, which we use at home:
Most stores are a sea of mattresses upholstered with memory foam...as yours is.
Memory foam sleeps hot, wears quickly and off gasses the toxic chemicals from which memory foam is made.
The good news is that your mattress has a dual life.
The memory foam is only on the top.
The thing to do is flip your one-sided mattress over to the non-memory foam side.
If that side is too firm, which it is likely to be, add whatever you have on hand to soften it...like a comforter.
For a long-term solution to make it comfortable, we recommend a Suite Sleep Pure, Organic Soft Latex Topper.
The Vita Talalay Latex Mattress Topper is the softest.
