Tempurpedic vs. Sealy's TrueForm mattress

I came across your website as I was googling mattresses. We are in the market for a new mattress. I thought I had narrowed down my decision to a Tempur-Pedic or a Posturepedic. Now after looking at your website I am confused again. The salesperson at the shop I was considering gave the following information:
11" Series Sealy Posturepedic True Form (compared to Celebrity Tempur-Pedic)
9" Series Sealy Posturepedic True Form (compared to Classic Tempur-Pedic)
The prices are dramatically lower for the Sealy mattresses. I can't find any of these on your website. Can you help me please? We aren't sure whether to get Queen or King.

Hi Bobbie, It's a common assumption that because something is more expensive, it must be better. Tempurpedic does sooo much advertising, you would think that they were the name brand and Sealy was the off brand. A 9" Sealy TrueForm has a 6" poly foam core and 3" of visco-elastic foam. The 11" True Form has the same 6" poly core, 3.5" of regular visco and 1.5" of convoluted visco. Compare them to Tempurpedic and you'll know that you're paying for advertising.

Hi Melissa, The question is too general. No one mattress is good for every back. There exist a variety of back problems and there are various types of mattresses better suited to each. If your back problem is disc related, foam mattresses in general aren't good. Disc problems react better to the support provided by an interlocked coil system. If that's not your problem and you like the feel of a Tempurpedic, you might consider the Sealy TrueForm. Tempurpedic is so familiar a name because of the tremendous mount of advertising they do. But you'll do better with the Sealy name brand. The prices are lower and the beds are better made.
