100% All-Natural Vytex Dunlop Latex Mattress Toppers. Ever-Eden’s Vytex Dunlop is, virtually, Allergen Free. And while the Vytex Dunlop comes in the same 2 choices of comfort levels, Dunlop is a more dense material and does not have as supple a feel as the Talalay Latex Toppers.
You should get another 10 years out of that mattress.
Pure Talalay Bliss Natural Talalay Latex Mattresses provide excellent long lasting support comfort.
During the process of turning liquid latex into foam, it goes through a 5 stage washing, which removes most of the protein, the allergen, that is naturally found in latex and is common in latex gloves and bandages. This, typically, manifests itself as a topical allergy. The finished product has enough of the allergen removed to be called hypo-allergenic.
We offer latex that is certified to be completely allergen free....Vytex Dunlop Latex...used in the EverEden Latex Mattresses.
Pure, All Natural Latex, in and of itself, is organic.
What makes a latex mattress organic, is the other materials used to finish the mattress...like the cotton cover and the wool used as a natural flame retardant. The cotton must be organically grown and the wool must come from sheep that are fed an organic diet.
It's these details that make an organic latex mattress so expensive...like the Natura of Canada Organic Latex Mattresses, shown here:
I bought a Sealy Newport Beach Reflexion king size mattress almost 10 years ago. The mattress is sagging a bit on my side of the bed and my wife’s side of the bed.
We find the middle is very comfortable, but the sides are not. We spin it every 6 months or so but that only makes a difference for the first night or so.
I measured to see if the sag was 1.5” inches, but it is not. Are we at the end of life on this mattress? Would it help to put some plywood over the box spring to firm it up? I saw one of your blog posts where you told someone to flip it upside down to help give it new life, will that work with this mattress?
One of the reasons we bought this mattress was because of the longer life I thought latex would give us. Anything we can do to help extend it would be great.
It's the poly foam on top of the latex that is sagging, not the latex under it.
You can absolutely salvage several more years out of what you have.
Flip it over to the firm latex side and add a 2" soft Talalay latex mattress topper. It'll feel the way the Newport felt when new, without having to worry about the poly foam compressing.
This works like a charm and you've just saved yourself a ton of money on a new mattress.
Here's the link to the toppers. UPS delivery is free and there's no sales tax.
We have a Sealy Reflexion Newport Beach mattress we would like to replace; I believe it is about 10 years old. We had a sagging, innerspring mattress and with age it was causing problems with my back / hip (side sleeper to start - stomach in morning). While I liked the mattress, my wife thought it was to firm. I weight about 145 and she is about 210. The other problem is that as we age, it seems to be ‘hotter’ resulting is waking in perspiration and disrupted sleep; while not as bad as memory foam (travel) it is not as cool as the basic innerspring we had. We also note depressions which from your blog are due to a non-latex foam layer under the quilted top I noted you recommend the Simmons Beauty Rest Alexia or Ava innerspring as a base (it appears both have foam layers though) plus adding a latex topper (soft). Based on research, it seems a pillow top is not a good option for softness and after reading agree that that layer will compress / shift with time. What do you recommend to minimize the ‘hot feeling’ of latex (from the topper), that is, get the prior innerspring only cool, cotton sheet feel? Is there something you can place on top of the latex topper? I recall the older mattresses had a wool layer underneath the quilt that dissipated heat. Thank you and your website / blog have been educational. Only wish we did not live in Indiana and so far from your store. Timothy
No worries about the store. That was lost in a fire back in 2009. We started our on-line presence in 2003 and we have been strictly an on-line retailer since 2009....
...serving the entire US & Canada.
You have an incorrect assumption that latex sleeps hot. It does not. My wife and I have been using the same 2" soft Latex topper for the past 6 years. It's still like new, after all that time, and has never slept hot. Latex sleep cool, naturally.
The Simmons Beautyrest Black holds up well under heavy body weight...if you use a latex topper with it. The latex insulates you from the memory foam, makes the mattress more comfortable, and greatly slows the wear of the memory and poly foams inside.
If you want to mimic what we have, it would be the Ava luxury firm and a 2" soft Talalay latex topper.
