Hey there my name is Ron and I am hunting for a good bed that I won't end up with lower back pain half the time. Now the pain goes away after probably 30 minutes but still not fun I have been looking seriously at 3 mattresses mainly. The first I found a clearance Simmons beautyrest black Anslegh plush firm for $800 but no warranty at all. I also have been looking at 2 sherwood beds as well. The first is the radiance plush which is an ultra plush and feels pretty decent and the other is the spirit plush which is a bit firmer than the radiance. I liked all 3 but for my weight and also being a side sleepers is there one that you would recommend. Also the 2 sherwood beds come with a 10 year full warranty but at $1100 and $900. What are your thoughts. I would like to have you this mattress for a decent amount of time if possible and a decent nights rest as well. Thanks Ron
Hi Ron,
None of those mattresses will hold up under your weight.
I do have mattresses that will, but from what I'm reading, they won't be in your price range.
Spending the money on an appropriate mattress is one way to think about this. However, when you don't have that kind of money, you have to very careful of what you buy.
The best philosophy, given a limited budget, is to get something more minimal. It's the padding that will wear first and the more padding you have, the quicker the mattress will fail, under a big man.
It just so happens that Sears has it on sale, the mattress I would choose for you. It's probably a lost leader, the price is so low. So, don't let a salesman talk you out of it.
At Sears, it's the Sealy Amici plush. It's quite substantial with enough padding to be comfortable, but not so much as to be a problem for you. It will cost you less than the ones you showed me and out-perform all of them under your weight.
