A google search for that mattress in your area will produce a list of the store that carry it...if there are any to be found.

Most stores are pushing memory foam upholstered mattresses because that's where the money is.

Memory foam turns the consumer into a frequent buyer.

Back and Shoulder Pain. Which Latex Mattress Topper? Delivery to Canada.

We recently purchased a Stearns and Foster Queen sized bed. 

It seemed comfortable when we purchased it. 

I have a very bad back and sore shoulder so we actually purchased the bed in the hopes that it would help. 

Unfortunately my back is worse than ever as is my shoulder. 

We recently went away on vacation and the bed at the hotel was extremely soft. I slept wonderfully and no sore back. 

When we got back home to our bed, my back is so bad again that I can barely sleep. 

Which latex mattress topper would you suggest for me?

We have two latex toppers from Natura of Canada to offer you. Both are made of 2" of soft Talalay Latex.

The more expensive of the two has a wool top pad, but most people buy and are happy with the lesser expensive model without that wool pad.

Both will do a fine job of providing surface comfort that is conducive to getting a deep, comfortable night's sleep.

A Mattress to Relieve Sciatica Pain, Delivered to Canada.

Hi Jean,

Sciatica stems from worn discs in the small of the back. The vertebrae pinch nerves, which send pain around the hip and down the leg.

To best prevent this, it's imperative to keep your spine in it's natural alignment...which prevent the nerves from being pinched.

The best way to achieve this, is with a mattress using an individually pocketed coil system.

 

There are many different mattress brands that have that coil unit, but most are upholstered with memory foam.

One of the many problems with memory foam, is that it wears very quickly.

The last thing you need to do is waste your money on a mattress that feels good when new, and not, only months to a year later.

 

I have many disc problems, that no longer bother me, thanks to this mattress...which has remained like new for more than the 3 years we've had it.

Hi John,

We had carried the Sealy and S&F latex lines in the past. 

We stopped carrying those brands when they were purchased by Tempurepedic in 2013. Since then, everything they make is loaded with memory foam.

They latex mattresses are not all latex. The use a synthetic latex core, (not natural latex), and they are topped with varying amounts of poly & memory foams. 

 

Latex, as a whole, is expensive. 

But if you buy the right latex, it will last a very long time and end up being cheaper in the long run....cheaper than any other type of mattress.

Mattress for a Large Man Delivered in Canada.

Hi Pete,

I've been reading your blog and it’s amazing how many similarities I’m seeing with other people. BTW, I’m from Canada.

Here’s my problem. I’m primarily a side sleeper. In the last six months, I have experienced a compressed disc in my neck which has made it all but impossible to sleep on my right side. 

So in response, I’ve been sleeping more on my left side and my back. Now I’m beginning to experience pains in my left shoulder. I’m a fairly heavy man, 5’10” tall and weigh 250 lbs. 

We’ve had a Springwall mattress for about 8 years, a pillow top that has some definite grooves from the years. 

I can really tell that the mattress has deteriorated because if I sleep in the middle, where neither my wife or I normally sleep, I am much more comfortable. 

My wife is also experiencing some pain, with her it is primarily in her hips, and she does feel her legs go numb at times as well.  She is around 5’7” and weighs about 160 lbs.

 

My question is, should we invest in a new mattress and box spring. Do we need to replace the box spring, how would we know? 

I’m definitely sold on the latex toppers, but what firmness should I get? Any recommendation on a new mattress?  

I really like the Beautyrest, but can’t find comparable models to yours, in Canada… all are the pillow top, and I feel like I should really stay away from thick tops with my weight. 

I know I’ll end up with deep body marks otherwise.

Can you recommend something for us, that you can deliver to Canada?

It's a good bet that your boxspring needs to be replaced, as well.

Remove your mattress and push down on the boxspring. If completely rigid throughout the surface, then it's fine.

If you feel any soft spots, then you need to replace it. The soft spots are more likely to be at the points that support the heaviest parts of you...and where you sit.

Natura Latex vs. Sleeptek Latex vs Kingsdown Mattresses to Canada.

I am in the midst of receiving a Tempurpedic Grand from Tempur to replace the one that my husband and I are currently sleeping on but I am thinking that we need to move away from Tempur all together.  

My husband is a 330 lb pro rugby player and, needless to say, he destroys beds within about three years.  

The Tempur was recommended to us in 2008 and I have since that time lost all faith in the product they sell.  My plan is to receive the new bed and turn around and sell it.  

I have been doing some research and have narrowed it down to a Sleeptek Flex Lift mattress or the Kingsdown Motiff (used to be Vivarri and some places call it the Brenda Lee.)  

I am wondering if there is a bed you would recommend?  We were told to avoid coils and Memory foam now as they are not as effective at relieving pain due to injuries and strains.  

Can you give me some guidance? We live in Alberta, Canada.

The Sleeptek Flex Lift looks good...latex, but expensive.
I wasn't able to find that particular Kingsdown mattress, but the company has a horrible reputation.

 We carry natural latex mattresses...and for a lot less money.

Latex is nothing like the memory foam used in the Tempurpedic.

Latex has been thee best upholstery material for the past 100 years...most resilient and most comfortable...able to hold heavy weight over a long term.

Memory foam, on the other hand, has proven itself to be thee worst upholstery material ever invented...over its 20 year history.
