Pete,
My wife and I purchased a Queen size Simmons Beautyrest PressureSmart 2.0 Plush Pillow Top mattress from Mattress Firm this past April.
We started having back aches after about 60 days and thought it was due to our exercise, age and outdoor activities.
We are still dealing with the back pains and believe it has to be the mattress.
The mattress is no longer within the 120 day guarantee.
We have finally decided it is time to change.
Can you recommend a good mattress for us.
My wife is 5’4” 130lbs and I am 5’8” 160lbs.
We both in good shape in our late 50’s and exercise daily.
P.S. our last mattress we had for 15yrs and we never had an ache.
Can’t remember what the brand was.
Thank you for your help!!
Mike
Hi Mike,
The problem with your mattress is the memory foam upholstery.
Simmons was sold in 2016 to an investment group that also bought Serta.
Memory foam is used to cause mattresses to need frequent replacing, which has enhanced profits for those making it and selling it.
Contrary to all the hype, memory foam is the absolute worst upholstery material ever invented…from a consumer’s standpoint.
To relieve chronic back pain, you need a mattress using an individually pocketed coil system, which provides firm contouring support, which maintains the natural alignment of the body and spine….without memory foam upholstery.
Natural, durable and comfortable Latex is and has been the best…most comfortable and longest lasting upholstery material for the last 100 years.
We carry a line of mattresses from Natura of Canada Greenspring
These use a stronger version of the pocketed coils in the Beautyrest and uses pure, hypoallergenic latex upholstery.
There are 4 models in the line, becoming more comfortable with each higher model.
My wife and I have been sleeping on their Ultra Plush model for the last 9 years,

These mattresses are designed to remain supportive and comfortable for 20 years.
