Hi Pete,
My boyfriend and I purchased a new Stearns and Foster luxury firm pillow top mattress about 3 weeks ago.
The bed is at my house and he generally only stays over on weekends.
I'm heavier, about 275 pounds.
The side of the mattress that I sleep on already feels much, much squishier than the side that doesn't get slept on as often, the other side still feels nice and firm. I want to exchange the mattress, a tight top seems to be the way to go from what I've been reading on your site, but the names are too confusing on the Sears’ website. help? Thanks, Mellissa
Hi Mellissa,
Before making the exchange, you have to understand the problem.
Being a pillow top mattress is only part of the problem.
The memory foam upholstery is the main source of your problem.
Memory foam is a temperature sensitive material that softens as it warms from your body’s heat. It’s not very resistant to start, so it doesn’t take long before you’re sinking into it much too much.
Be sure to exchange that mattress for one with no memory foam.
S&F was sold to Tempur-Pedic in 2013. They haven’t made a mattress worth buying for more than a decade.
TME sells no mattresses that contain any memory foam.
