Hi Pete,
I have a 20 yo king duxiana mattress that I love. I moved recently and stupidly didn’t put on waterproof cover. Dog was very sick on bed. I don’t use a topper. The top part unzips around three sides to facilitate switching out the springy panels. I am tempted to cut the sewn-in side and take the top to a dry cleaner and then whip stitch it back in place. I cleaned it already with my upholstery machine but I am thinking I really want a deep clean. Any thoughts?
Thanks, Susan
Hi Susan,
In lieu of buying a new mattress, your plan makes sense.
Measure the depth of the upholstery layer under the cover and replace that part with the same depth of pure, organic latex foam.
It’ll be like a brand new mattress.
Here’s a link to our latex toppers, which you can use as replacement upholstery.
They come with a cover, which you can choose to remove.
Don’t forget the waterproof mattress protector.
Everything ships quickly, usually arriving in a week.
Thanks, Pete - TME
