Hi Pete,
I've been researching for months for a mattress for fibromyalgia, hip and shoulder pain.
I'm a side sleeper. I finally pulled the trigger on a Loom and Leaf mattress, and I hate it.
It had zero edge support and was too firm. I wake up about every 2 hours to move.
They are taking it back, but then I'll have no mattress.
I have been to a few places and liked a Serta hills plush but there are many complaints about it not holding up and developing dips in less than 2 years. I tried out the icomfort and it seems too firm.
I tried the Serta arctic and liked it but the cost is high.
I tried a Marshall plush and liked it but again many reviews of dips in a short time and are expensive.
I also sleep hot. I'm so lost at this point.
I need a supportive mattress with softness on top for the pressure points that will last.
Something I can get quickly and won't cost a fortune.
Does that exist?
I really appreciate your time! Thank you.
Terri
Hi Terri,
All those bad reviews are due to the common memory foam upholstery on top of your mattress.
Memory foam, a soup of 61 chemicals…many of which are toxic, is a temperature sensitive material that causes the user to sleep hot. What’s more, it’s specifically designed to cause a mattress to need frequent replacing.
There’s no question that it feels good to many people, but that initial comfort is quickly lost.
I have railed against memory foam for years, due to all the negative side effects.
My recommendation is The Wolf Tulah Luxury Plush Eurotop Mattress.
It ships quickly and is reasonably priced.
It's a well made mattress, providing excellent support that lasts for years.
It's not as soft as it sounds, so you may need to add a topper for additional comfort.
Here are link to that mattress and to our toppers.
I suggest waiting until the mattress arrives before determining if a topper is needed.
Waiting will also allow you to determine how much extra softness you need...if at all.
UPDATE!…This Wolf Mattress Has Been Discontinued.
We are pleased to offer you a higher quality mattress from Eco-Terra.
This mattress provides the same support with an upgrade in upholstery.
The higher quality upholstery provides greater comfort and longevity.
