Hi Pete,
We have a Simmons Beautyrest Felicity pillowtop mattress that is close to 20 years old.
It has been the best mattress until it wasn’t.
I liked the individual coil system where I did not feel my husband move or get up at night.
Can you recommend a mattress that is similar?
I understand Simmons has been bought out and the new product is not as good.
Please recommend a mattress that will help my low back pain.
I am a side sleeper, my husband is a stomach sleeper.
Your opinion is greatly appreciated, Jan
Hi Jan,
What your 20 year old Beautyrest didn’t have in it, was memory foam.
That’s why it lasted for so long.
Today, very few mattresses have no memory foam, which is specifically designed to for needing frequent replacing…pre planned obsolescence.
You’d be lucky to get a couple/few years from any of them.
Not to mention that it sleeps hot and off gasses the toxic chemicals from which it’s made….just the worst upholstery material ever invented.
The mattress I’m recommending has a very strong, individually pocketed coil unit, which is the key to proper spinal alignment and back pain relief. And this mattress is upholstered with natural & hypoallergenic Talalay Latex foam.
There’s no memory foam in this mattress.
Here’s a link to the The Natura of Canada Greensping Ultra Plush Mattress
This is the mattress that TME sleeps on at home.
It’s comfortable, but not too soft, which works well for a stomach sleeper.
Thanks, Pete
