Hi Pete,
I came across your site when doing some research.
Like several others that have contacted you, I had a great experience on the mattress at a hotel.
It appears to have been a Simmons Beautyrest. Which one?...who knows?
We recently returned a Queen-sized Saatva mattress.
I have bulging discs in my lower back and I found their bed made my pain worse.
I’m looking to buy a mattress that will help me wake up rested and not in pain.
I can tell during the night my hips get out of alignment, which exacerbates my back pain.
What mattress would you recommend?
Any guidance you can offer would be appreciated.
Thank you, Jennifer
Hi Jennifer,
What makes a Beautyrest so comfortable is the individually pocketed coil unit.
Each coil moves independently from one another, which maintains the natural alignment of your spine.
This type of coil system also provides a great degree of motion separation...not feeling each other move.
All that memory foam in your Saatva mattress is what causes you back pain.
It's a temperature sensitive material that softens as it warms from your body heat.
As you sink into it, the natural alignment of your spine is gone, causing back pain.
Memory foam reflects your body heat back to you and causes you to sleep hot.
Memory foam is specifically designed to cause a mattress to need frequent replacing.
Today, even hotel Beautyrests have some memory foam in them.
Here is a link to mattresses we recommend as an excellent substitute.
The Wolf Tulah Mattress provides firm support and a comfortable sleeping surface with NO Sinking into it.
UPDATE!…This Wolf Mattress Has Been Discontinued.
We are pleased to offer you a higher quality mattress from Eco-Terra.
This mattress provides the same support with an upgrade in upholstery.
The higher quality upholstery provides greater comfort and longevity.

The coils are stronger than Simmons coils and the upholstery is better.
In fact, these specifications exceed anything that Simmons makes today.

Never:
Use an old box spring/foundation with any new mattress.
Doing so voids the warranty of the mattress.
Always:
Use a waterproof mattress protector.
Your new mattress will last longer if kept clean and dry.
