Three-Year-Old Sealy Posturepedic Belfort Euro-Top mattress is causing back and Shoulder pain.

Hi Pete,

I have a three-year-old Sealy Posturepedic Belfort Euro-Top mattress that is causing back and shoulder pain flare-ups every night. This mattress is discontinued and I can't find a description of it. 

I'm not sure of the construction but want to avoid it with my next purchase.

 

I slept on a Hypnos Dream Bed at a hotel recently and did not have back pain either night. 

I'm not sure if this is just a coincidence or if this mattress would help long term. 

Regardless, it is too expensive, but maybe there is something in the construction that other mattresses have that would resolve my problems.

 

I enjoy reading in bed as well and I'm wondering if an adjustable bed would be more appropriate for this or if there is something else that is supportive?

 

I'm in Canada and I know you recommend the Natura of Canada Greenspring mattress which ironically, doesn't ship from Canada and is in US funds so that's also out of the budget.

 

I realize I'm all over the place with this inquiry. 

I just don't want to get a mattress, wake up in pain and be in the same state I am now. 

The pain and lack of sleep have affected my quality of life.

 

Can you help me find an affordable mattress in Canada to eliminate my back pain with some cooling features?

If the price for these mattresses is not in your budget, then my best advice is to avoid any mattress upholstered with memory foam.

The memory foam in your 3 years old Sealy is what’s causing your problems.

You won't need to find "cooling features" if you buy a mattress without memory foam.

Memory foam is the only temperature sensitive material used.

It's the memory foam that causes a mattress to sleeps hot.
