Good Morning Laura,
Replacing your S&F for something of equal quality isn’t something that can happen before Thanksgiving.
Your Edgefield is one of the last great mattresses made by S&F.
S&F went from being considered “The Cadillac of the Industry” for many decades,
to nothing more than expensive junk, literally, overnight…in January of 2014, due to Tempurpedic buying them the year before. Since then, all S&F mattresses are upholstered with memory foam.
Memory foam is specifically designed to cause a mattress to need frequent replacing. Your Edgefield has no memory foam in it…which the main reason why it has lasted for so long.
The time to replace a mattress is when you are no longer sleeping well.
When that time comes we carry the Natura of Canada Greenspring mattresses, which is the line of mattresses we found to replace S&F.
Shown here:
All of the name brands have been sold and all are using memory foam upholstery.
Memory foam is thee thing to avoid in order to make a successful purchase.
We carry a line of mattresses from the Wolf Corp. that also have no memory foam.
Any of these 3 mattresses will arrive long before Thanksgiving.
The most popular is the Tulah Plush Eurotop Mattress, which a number of my family members are sleeping on.
The Adara Plush Mattress is a bit firmer.
The Brolynn old fashioned two sided mattress is the most popular for guest rooms.
The Brolynn comes in firm or plush, and in Duo Comfort, (Firm on one side and Plush on the other side).
The Duo Comfort model is the most popular choice for guest bedrooms because to can flip the mattress to the desired feel of your guests.
Neither side is very firm nor very plush.
All three mattresses use an individually pocketed coil unit, which contours to the shape of the body, maintaining the natural alignment of the spine.
Your guests will sleep well.
Here are links to those 3 Wolf mattresses.
These mattresses ship via ups.
They usually arrive in about a week’s time.
Delivery is free and there’s no sales tax.
