Sealy Posturepedic Crown Jewel Atessa Mattress.

Some 20 years ago I lived in High Point, NC, the furniture capitol.  

I purchased a Sealy Posturepedic Crown Jewel Atessa mattress and it is the best mattress I ever had. Unfortunately, I had to leave High Point and could not take the mattress with me.  

I had hoped to die on that mattress.

They say you can find anything on the web.  

So, I figured there must be at least one of these mattresses out there somewhere.

But I have not been able to find a thing about it.  

I even contacted Sealy, but they apparently do not keep a history of their products.

So here I am 20 years later, in Boston, contemplating a new mattress. 

I'm hoping against all hope that I might find this somewhere.

Can you help?  I would be so grateful.

Hi Neil,

There’s only one scenario that would produce, for you, that particular mattress in like new condition.

It’s been in someone’s guest bedroom for the last 20 years, having had minimal use.

Craig’s List would be a good place to start for that.

 

Once you’ve exhausted your search for that particular mattress, I do have something that might satisfy you.

Your old Sealy mattress was two-sided, if purchased 20 years ago.

Two years later, that would have changed to being one-sided.

In 2013, Tempurpedic bought Sealy and then upholstered all their mattresses with memory foam.

Your old Sealy had no memory foam in it…only polyurethane foam.

Today, Sealy makes nothing that is even remotely close to what they made 20 years ago. Nothing they make today is worth buying.
