Hi Pete,
We are large people. I'm about 250 lbs. My wife, not quite so heavy.
We bought a Big Fig mattress less than a year ago.
We were led to believe that this mattress was especially made for heavy people.
Naturally, I assumed that would translate into longevity.
Unfortunately for us, it has not held up well, at all.
There are deep body impressions in it when we're in bed, and not so much when we get out of bed.
Those "out of bed" impressions aren't deep enough for them to give us an exchange.
We feel like we've been ripped off.
The same thing happened with the mattresses we purchased prior to that, but there was no false claims.
Can you tell me what happened?
Do you have a mattress that WILL hold up under our weights?
Thanks, Chris
Hi Chris,
The upholstery material in that mattress is gel infused latex.
Latex doesn't sleep hot, so the gel infusion is not necessary.
I suspect that the gel infusion may have something to do with the lack of resiliency.
Also, the coils are very small and the gauge of wire used to make those coils are very thin.
You need only replace the mattress. The foundation does not need replacing.
We carry a mattress from The Wolf Company, using the same type of coil system, individually pocketed.
The coils are big and stronger, using a much heavier gauge steel and that steel is double tempered.
The upholstery in this Wolf Hybrid is latex...minus the gel infusion.
Here is a link to the Wolf Pocketed Coil, Latex Hybrid Adara, mattress:
This will give you the support, comfort and longevity that the BigFig mattress didn't give you.
Shipping is free and there's no sales tax.
