Hi Pete,
I’m very sensitive to the fire-retardant chemicals and other man-made products in mattresses, like memory foam.
In 2007, a federal mandate added some ridiculous requirements for flame retardant.
Mattress makers who use things like foam have no choice but to comply, so they spray the mattress casing with fire retardant or encase the mattress in something that doesn’t burn like wool, which is expensive.
I’m on my third mattress in two years and still looking for one that keeps its shape and doesn’t give me a headache.
Thanks, Allison
Hi Allison,
Your headaches are due to the chemical off gassing of the memory foam.
It's also the memory foam that causes a mattress to wear quickly.
Here is a link to a line of mattresses with natural latex and NO Memory Foam.
These
Natura of Canada Greenspring mattresses use wool as a natural fire retardant.
The Natura GreenSpring series combines the natural elements commonly found in Natura, such as wool and latex, but it has a specially designed pocketed coil system to provide your body with extra support.

White glove delivery is free and there’s no sales tax.
Delivery includes setup and removal of your old mattress.
We recommend using a waterproof mattress protector with every mattress.
Keeping the upholstery materials clean and dry will extend the life of the mattress.
