Hi Pete,
I saw a comment on a Simmons Beautyrest that was made by the mattress expert.
Followed that back to your website, and here I am asking your thoughts.
I am a big guy, 330lbs 6'2". I'm usually a side sleeper, but not 100%.
I have had a hip replacement, along with some knee and shoulder issues. I just turned 45.
I, recently, slept on a Simmons Beautyrest mattress in a Holiday Inn Express hotel, and it was amazing.
I read some of your thoughts and comments.
I hate memory foam, as it makes me feel trapped.
I like moving when I want to.
So... what are your thoughts?
Thanks, Steve
Hi Steve,
The thing that makes a Simmons Beautyrest so comfortable, is the support from the individually pocketed coils.
However, their coils are not very strong, made of raw non-tempered steel.
Purchased at any retail store, those mattresses are upholstered with memory foam, which wears quickly and sleeps hot.
(The hotel models are not upholstered with memory foam.)
The mattress we recommend, for a person your size, is The Natura of Canada Greenspring.
That line, shown here:
These mattresses also use an individually pocketed coil system.
The coil count is higher and the double tempered steel coils are stronger than in a Simmons Beautyrest.
Also, the upholstery is Natural Talalay Latex, which wears well and sleeps cool.
The Ultra Plush is the most comfortable of the four models.
However, at your size and for the sake of the longevity of the mattress and reduced expense as the years go by,
we recommend getting one of the firmer models and adding a latex topper to it.
Doing it this way will allow you to replace only the topper, as the years go by, and not the mattress.
The latex topper will absorb much of your body weight, which will cause the mattress to remain like new a whole lot longer.
The latex topper we recommend is the EverEden Vytex Dunlop in Soft...with the 3" being more comfortable than the 2"...especially for a sore shoulder.
Those latex toppers, shown here:
The mattress comes with white glove delivery, which includes set-up and removal of your old mattress/set.
The latex topper arrives via UPS.
Shipping is free and there's no sales tax.
We recommend using a waterproof mattress protector with every mattress.
Keeping the upholstery materials clean and dry will extend the life of the mattress.
Thanks, Pete
