Hi Pete,
I'm tired of buying mattresses that last only a couple of years.
I'm a big man, 250 lbs., and have sold a bill of good the last 3 times out.
Despite the sagging, I'm told there's nothing wrong with the mattress.
These mattress are pure junk and the warranties are worthless.
I got online to research this and came across your blog.
After reading some of your blog posts, I'm confident that you can help me.
What should I get?
Thanks Alvin
Hi Alvin,
Despite all the hype to the contrary, memory foam is the worst upholstery material ever invented.
Its ags easily and quickly, but returns to normal when you get out of bed.
Unfortunately, all of the name brands are upholstered with it...and many other brands, as well.
The key to a successful purchase is avoiding mattresses made with memory foam.
Polyurethane foam was the primary upholstery used by the industry from the late 1960s to about 10 years ago.
It was at about that time that all of the name brands were sold and memory foam substituted for the sake of profit.
Memory foam is specifically designed to sell more mattresses, more frequently, to the same people.
The best upholstery material has been latex...true for the last 100 years.
Latex was a lot more expensive than poly foam, so it's been over the last 10 years, or so, that latex has made a dramatic comeback...as the best option for both, comfort and durability.
My wife and I are large people. The mattress we have at home is nearly 5 years old and still, in like new condition.
The support and comfort is outstanding and it would be the mattress I recommend for you, as well.
The Natura of Canada Greenspring Ultra Plush is that mattress.

It's ultra plush when compared to the other 3 models in that line, and nowhere near as soft as it sounds.
By no one's standards can this mattress be considered, too soft.
The individually pocketed coils maintain the natural alignment of the spine.
The coil count is very high and the steel used to make the coils is double tempered for strength and durability.
The plush latex, on top, cushions you, but doesn't allow you to sink into it....creating the feeling of floating.
This mattress comes with white glove delivery, which includes set-up in your bedroom and removal of your old mattress.
Delivery is free and there's no sales tax.
We recommend using a waterproof mattress protector with every mattress.
Keeping the upholstery materials clean and dry will extend the life of the mattress.
Thanks, Pete
