Your email raised a question for me, concerning the 4 poster bed.
There has to be more than just cross supports.
There must be support up the center, (head to foot), with legs that reach the floor.
So, it would be prudent to check on that.
The mattress I’m recommending for you is the same one we sleep on at home.
It uses an individually pocketed coil with the coils made of double tempered steel and natural Talalay Latex upholstery.
The specifications of this mattress far exceed anything Simmons makes.
Even their Heavenly Bed, hotel mattresses, are not made as well...using non-tempered coils and polyurethane foam.
My wife and I are similar in size. Our mattress is, still, in like new condition after more than 4.5 years. What’s more, the cost doesn’t even come close to what you’ve budgeted and will outlast your 7 yr. mark.
That mattress is the Natura of Canada Greenspring Ultra Plush.
The support is quite firm, with a comfortable sleeping surface.
We added a Pure Bliss 3” Plush latex topper to ours, due to my wife’s sensitive hip, which relieved her hip pain. Otherwise, it’s perfectly comfortable just as it comes.
I would suggest holding off on purchasing a latex topper until you get the mattress.
You may not need it.
Here are links to that mattress and latex topper.
Latex is the highest quality upholstery material on the planet.
This has been true for the last 100 years.
Pillows made of latex last far longer than any other type.
The first two are the most popular. The first is very soft.
The second is made of finely chopped latex, which can be manipulated to fit around your head and neck.
We recommend using a waterproof mattress protector with every mattress.
Keeping the upholstery materials clean and dry will extend the life of the mattress.
Shown here, are 2 quality models from which to choose.
We use the Gotcha Covered protector at home.
The mattress comes with white glove delivery, which includes set up in your bedroom and removal of your old mattress.
The latex toppers, pillows and mattress protectors arrive via UPS.
Delivery, in all cases, is free and there’s no sales tax.
