Our previous mattress had inner coil and a pillow top (but before the foam stuff came out).
It was a great mattress that lasted like 15 years.
I have been so disappointed in this new mattress, because it wasn’t cheap and hasn’t lasted well at all.
I’ve been painful and tired for at least a year.
I also have sleep apnea (mild) during REM sleep.
The doctor recommended putting a foam wedge between the mattress and the box springs to help, which we did. This mattress was uncomfortable even before that. Now we just slide down the bed all night, too.

Hi Wendy,
Your current mattress is upholstered with memory foam, which is the source of all your problems.
Your previous mattress had no memory foam, which is why it lasted so long.
Flipping your mattress and adding a latex topper is, certainly, an option.

The topper on your old mattress is the iffier choice.
How well or how long that will work, depends on the damage the mattress has already incurred.
Either way, UPS delivery is free and there's no sales tax.
One more thing.
Lose the wedge. It is causing your spine to be misaligned.
Get bed risers, instead...which will prop up the back legs of your bed.
You'll sleep on a tilt for easier breathing, and still maintain the natural alignment of your spine.
