Hi Alice,
It does come without a pillowtop.
It’s called a tight top.
As a Simmons Beautyrest retailer, they would be able to order that for you.
The tight top prices at $100 less than the pillowtop.
You don’t want to be talked into a pillowtop.
That retailer was unwilling to order the tight top model for me. So, I went shopping elsewhere.
The Simmons Beautyrest Platinum series now has a higher end and lower end luxury firm model.
The Spring Grove is very similar to the your Gibson Grove, which you have suggested to me.
The Higher end model is called Haven Pine Luxury Firm.
The “Comfort Padding Layers” include a 1" Back Care 3X support consisting of 2,000 nanocoils.
“Correct Back Support System” includes:
1000 Platinum Series individual Beautyrest pocketed coils.
1 ½ inch Energy foam
Coil gauge 13
The salesperson recommended the Haven Pine because of the extra support and longevity of mattress.
With either mattress, I will be ordering a Pure Bliss 3" Plush Natural TalaLay Latex Topper.
Are familiar with the Haven Pine model?
Do you think all those nanocoils would be to much for my fibromyalgia body.
Would you be able to order one?
Thanks, Alice
Hi Alice,
The Platinum Beautyrest has a coil density of 1000 coils in a queen size.
That's how many coils would fit into the mattress, if not for the foam edge support.
The actual coil count is 900.
Mattress industry BS starts at the highest levels.
Those extra nano coils may be new to the Platinum Series, but is an old concept.
It never added support or anything else to a mattress, except a higher price tag.
Salespeople are trained to get as much money out of the consumer as possible.
Those extra layers and nano coils are more industry BS and actually reduce the performance of the mattress.
Stick with their Spring Grove model.
