Hi Pete,
We just got a mattress delivered.
The salesman told us that the warranty would be void if we didn't use a waterproof mattress protector.
He sold us one from a company called, "Protect-A-Bed".
Two nights ago, was the first night we slept on our new mattress and we were burning up on it.
Last night, we slept on it without the mattress protector and slept much cooler.
My questions are:
1) Is it true, what the salesman said about voiding the warranty without using a mattress protector?
2) If so, do you know where I can get one that doesn't sleep hot?
Thanks, Philip
Hi Philip,
It's the terry cloth cover, on top of your Protect-A-Bed mattress protector that caused you to sleep hot.
Your warranty isn't automatically void if you don't use one, but it becomes void as soon as you get a stain on it.
That would be a stain of any size, anywhere on the mattress.
The "Stain Clause" is part of every manufacturer's warranty.
The most common stains come from perspiration. So, yes, it's a good idea to use one.
We carry an Organic Waterproof Mattress Protector that does not sleep hot, which we sue at home.
Here is a link to that, from a company called "Gotcha Covered".
Our fitted sheet style mattress protector is designed to be undetectable under your fitted sheet. First, we started with an incredibly soft 100% GOTS certified organic cotton jersey sleeping surface.
