Platform Bed and a Latex Topper for a Sealy SpringFree Meadowcrest Latex Mattress

Hi Pete,

I found your website while researching the internet for information on our current mattress.  

We purchased a Sealy SpringFree Meadowcrest Latex mattress, more than 10 years ago.

 

This mattress is very heavy and we are looking to purchase a platform bed that will be strong enough to hold it.  

I was hoping you would have an idea of how much this mattress weighs.

 

Also, while reading your question and answer section, I noticed that you recommended flipping the mattress.  

Can this mattress be flipped?  It would be great if we could continue to enjoy it.

That mattress is about 200 Lbs.

Be sure that any platform bed you buy has all the needed center supports.

 

Yes, you can continue to use and enjoy that mattress.

They were topped with plush poly foam, which is the part that wears.

Flipping the mattress brings the latex core to the top.

The latex core is very firm...too firm for comfort.
