Hi Sheri,

Hotel mattresses, made by Sealy, are not available at retail stores.

All of the mattresses Sealy makes for retail stores are upholstered with memory foam.

The upholstery used for hotel mattresses is polyurethane....NO Memory Foam.

 

You have a couple of options.

You can buy hotel mattresses directly thru the hotel.

However, they tend to be more expensive, purchased that way. On the plush side, the mattress will wear well.

Memory foam wears extremely poorly, and off gasses the toxic chemicals from which it's made.

A successful purchase involves avoiding mattresses made with memory foam.

 

Another option is the Brolynn Plush mattress.

Replacing an Old Sealy Posturepedic Mattress.

Hi Stephen,

There is a a long term solution to your problem.

It's the memory foam on top that has failed. 

However, the memory foam is supported by high density polyurethane foam.

Despite being made as a one sided mattress, the flip side is usable.

Flip your mattress over, putting the memory foam side down.

The underside is likely to be too form to sleep on comfortably, but does provide better support.

For surface comfort, add a Pure Bliss 2" or 3" Plush Natural Talalay Latex Topper.

I found your website while researching the internet for information on our current mattress.  

We purchased a Sealy SpringFree Meadowcrest Latex mattress, more than 10 years ago.

 

This mattress is very heavy and we are looking to purchase a platform bed that will be strong enough to hold it.  

I was hoping you would have an idea of how much this mattress weighs.

 

Also, while reading your question and answer section, I noticed that you recommended flipping the mattress.  

Can this mattress be flipped?  It would be great if we could continue to enjoy it.

That mattress is about 200 Lbs.

Be sure that any platform bed you buy has all the needed center supports.

 

Yes, you can continue to use and enjoy that mattress.

They were topped with plush poly foam, which is the part that wears.

Flipping the mattress brings the latex core to the top.

The latex core is very firm...too firm for comfort.

The only thing about that mattress, that bothers me, is the slow response latex.

Slow response latex mimics memory foam.

Why anyone would want to do that to latex, beats me.

I can’t help but feel that it's the slow response Latex causing your problems...as would memory foam.

 

The mattress is, basically, a good mattress.

I suggest a Pure Bliss 3” Plush Natural Talalay Latex Topper.

When it arrives, try it on top, then flip the mattress and add it to the firm side.

Use whichever side works better for you.

I can’t help but feel the firm side will work better.

Back Pain on a Simmons Beautyrest Plush Pillowtop Mattress.

I suggest you research, online, reviews on Simmons Beautyrest.

They are no less than horrible. The "Plush" Beautyrests lead those reviews.
