Tuft and Needle Mattress Aggravating Back and Hip Pain.

I would, very much, like to have her back sleeping with me.

I went to Macy's to buy a S&F mattress, costing almost $3,000. 

I didn't finalized the purchase because I wasn't sure if it had memory foam and other chemicals in the mattress. 

The organic mattress, I have, is killing me every day. I wake up with the pain and I feel sick.

Memory foam is the worst material ever invented for use in a mattress....and S&F uses plenty of it, now that they are owned by Tempurpedic.

Natural Latex is and has been the best material for the past 100 years.

Advice on a Talalay Latex Mattress Topper.

I just came across your website and was reading your advice on luxury plush pillowtop mattresses. 

I recently purchased a Beautyrest Luxury Firm Pillowtop mattress.  

While it seemed super comfortable in the store, once I started sleeping on it, the padding in the pillowtop compressed and became too firm for me.  

I added a 2" memory foam topper and while that helped with the comfort, it did so for only a short time and makes me hot.  

I planned on exchanging my mattress for the Luxury Plush version of the same mattress.  

However, after reading some of your advice about how bad they are, I am having second thoughts.  

So now, I am thinking about trying out one of your Talalay Latex toppers.   

I am a side-sleeper and I have arthritis in my hips and that is what is really hurting me.  

I am 5'8" and 125 pounds.  

I am really looking for the soft, cloud-like feel.  

Would you recommend a 2" or a 3" for me?

Given how slender you are, you would benefit most from the Pure Bliss 3" Plush Natural Talalay Latex Topper.

You'll find that it does not sleep hot and it a whole lot more comfortable than memory foam.

I have been reading your website info and blog for a couple of months now. I am getting closer to buying a mattress. 

As far as I can see, your prices are, if nothing else, are comparable or lower to anything I have seen on amazon or advertised in stores.
My husband and I generally tend to weigh around 150 pounds apiece. 

I sleep on my sides, mostly, sometimes on my back. He sleeps on his sides mostly, sometimes on his stomach.

The plush models use a very thin wire for the coils, which is only one problem.

The memory foam upholstery in every model doesn’t wear well, either.

Hi Dan,

Those mattresses are no longer available. Tempurpedic purchased Sealy/S&F in 2013 and loaded everything they make with memory foam.

Memory foam is far inferior to latex and is, in fact, the worst upholstery material ever invented.

They even added it to their latex mattresses.

 

However, I do have something similar in feel and better over-all quality.

The Sealy and S&F latex models used synthetic latex and polyurethane foams.

What I have now, is all latex, and that latex is Natural Talalay Latex.

Hi Jennifer,

The Springbrook was the top of the line, at the time. It had latex and no memory foam.

The Springbrook is now a discontinued model. 

Since then, Tempurpedic bought Sealy/Stearns & Foster. Now, every model uses memory foam.

We have stopped carrying S&F, and no longer recommend them.

One by one, the name brands have gone bad, not only using memory foam, but using a lot of it.

Using memory foam, creates a mattress that is made to sell. 

It has a lot of initial comfort...just enough to stay in the home beyond the exchange period.

Memory foam performs poorly, losing its comfort and support within months of purchase.

To add injury to insult, memory foam is made of a 61 chemical soup. 

Some of those chemicals are toxic, like formaldehyde and benzene. 

Memory foam off gasses those toxic chemicals, which attack your respiratory system. 

In short, it's not only a lousy product, it's a health hazard.

 

To avoid all this, we must look for alternative mattresses, via lesser known manufacturers.

The one I would recommend to you, will produce a similar feel to the Springbrook.
