Hi Jennifer,
Despite all the hype to the contrary, memory foam is the worst upholstery material ever invented.
They make many promises as to comfort, longevity and pain relief....and deliver on none of those.
Your mattress uses memory foam on top of high density polyurethane foam.
So, the very first thing to do, is flip that mattress over. Your back will feel better right away.
The underside of the mattress is much firmer, so you'll need to add something to that to sleep comfortable.
By no means, are you the first with this very same complaint.
Many have flipped the mattress and added a Pure Bliss 2" Plush Natural Talalay latex Topper.

This has allowed most to continue to use the mattress for a number of years more...without pain.
Buying a new mattress may not be your best solution. Most innerspring mattresses, including all of the name brands, use memory foam for the upholstery layers.
So, simply replacing the mattress doesn't solve the problem.
When we recommend a Simmons Beautyrest mattress, we also recommend a latex topper to go with it...for the sake of longevity.
The latex topper insulates you from the memory in the mattress.
So, since you will need a latex topper anyway, you may as well buy that first and use it on the flip side your your Tempurpedic.
If that works for you, as it has for many others, you've saved yourself the cost of a new mattress.
If it doesn't work, then buy a mattress and add the latex topper you'll already have.
If you end up really needing a new mattress, then get the Simmons Beautyrest Platinum Gibson Grove Luxury Firm to use under that latex topper.
