Sealy Posturepedic Mattress with a Memory Foam Topper is Causing Pain.

Hi Pete,

We have a king size Sealy Posturepedic mattress that is now 6 years old.

We had found it to be too firm, so we added a memory foam topper to it.

When I remove the topper, there are only slight body impression and a bit of a hump in the middle, and still too firm.

With the memory foam topper, I have nothing but pain.

I believe we need to replace the memory foam with a latex topper.

My wife believes that we need a new mattress.

Can you help us sort this out?

If just a latex topper, which one?

If a new mattress, which one?

We are 160 and 120 lbs.

Hi David,

I believe that the Sealy Posturepedic mattress you have is savable.

Your body impressions are slight...thanks to the age of your mattress.

There is a 1/2” layer of memory, sandwiched between 2,  1/2” layers of poly foam.

This sits just above the coils, with the rest of the upholstery being poly foam.

 

THIS, is why the body impressions are slight.

It’s, still, a good base from which to start.

Rotate your mattress 1/4 turn every season, (4 times a year). That hump in the middle will flatten out some.

 

Adding an EverEden Pure All Natural 2” Soft Vytex Dunlop or Talalay Latex Topper will greatly improve the surface comfort of your mattress.

It will also retard further wear...greatly extending the life of the mattress.
