Hi Pete,
I'd like to rotate our king-size pillowtop mattress 90 degrees, to help counter body impressions.
My husband thinks that mattresses are not made to rotate only 90 degrees (something about the coils not being made to support weight in that direction). Is he right?
Or would it be okay to rotate only 90 degrees?
Thanks, Kris
Hi Kris,
A king size mattresses is the only size mattress you can rotate 90 degrees.
This 90 degree rotation is something we advocate to get the most from your king size mattress.
The point is to have it wear more evenly, which extends the comfort life of the mattress.
Simply put, your mattress will last longer with the 90 degree rotation than it would with 180 degree rotation.
From the standpoint of value and getting the most for your money, that can only be seen as a good thing.
I don't know where your husband is getting his information, but he is incorrect.
This only works for Eastern, or standard, king size....not Cal. King...or any other size.
Only the Eastern king is square enough to rotate that way.
