Simmons Beautyrest Black Desiree Mattress & Ever-Eden Talalay Latex Topper.

This adventure has been worse than buying a new car. After having a previous bad experience with a Stearns and Foster, this time I have decided to purchase a Simmons Beautyrest Black. 

From the comments I have read, purchasing a latex topper seems the way to go. I tried the Black Desiree, and the Black Calista. 

The Desiree was comfortable, but I was concerned about it loosing it's support in a year or two, which was my experience with the SF. I tried the Calista and it was certainly more firm.

I can honestly say I left the store more confused than ever as the sales man could only repeat what I was quite able to read from the label.
We want to purchase a King bed. My husband is 6'2 200 lbs and I am 5'7. We are both 64 years old and side sleepers.

We want support but want that soft feel of luxury mattress. Please help.

The best buys of the Black models are the first two in the line....the two you tried.
We had and older version of the Desiree with an all natural Ever-Eden 2" soft talalay latex topper and the bed felt wonderful. 

We tested it for 4 years. It was in like new condition when we gave it to our son and his wife.
It held up so well under our 225 lb frames, because of the latex topper. 
The Calista is hard. Your best options is the Simmons Beautyrest Black Desiree and a latex topper. 

The topper will take care of your fear, while the Calista may end up being too firm...even with the topper.

It would be unusual for a side sleeping female to find the Calista comfortable...as it won't give as well with your hip.

(The Hip pressure point is the most common complaint of women).

Guest room mattress that my parents will be using.

Those are the most popular of the pillows we carry. They are, both, low profile...so you don't have to worry about them being too thick.

The latex/down is terrific at relieving chronic neck pain, as it easy is manipulated to mold around your head and neck.

Good Quality mattress for our daughter and her 2 children.

An all latex mattress is going to be more expensive than the price range you gave me.

However, I have a Latex Hybrid from Natura.

A Latex Topper to add comfort to our mattress.

I'm sorry for taking so long to reply.  

I've tried several times to get someone from Century House to contact me and I did speak to one of the staff who said that the wool in the topper does compress.  

So, I'm thinking it doesn't meet warranty criteria.  The mattress underneath is fine.

Long story short, we need something new.  We wake up in pain each day.  We paid a lot of money for this bed and are very disappointed.  

We'd like to get a totally different bed but since the mattress is only 5 years we think going with a new topper would be the most cost effective.  

However, we don't want another wool topper.  

Another option is to try to sell the mattress and get something different.  We are looking for something with that is soft but supportive for our older bodies.  

Neither of us have a lot of natural padding.  I am not a fan of memory foam.  

We aren't adverse to scrapping everything and getting a whole new set but it's our last choice.

Any recommendations?

An Ever-Eden soft talalay latex topper will provide the surface comfort you're looking for.

It's available in 2" and 3".

If either of you suffer from disc problems in your back, stay with the 2".

If not, then the 3" will be softer if you think you need the extra.

Typically, the wait time for most of my mattresses, takes 2 weeks.

The Natura and Pure Bliss brands tend to take 3 weeks.
