I've been reading your site and can'e see where to post a question. I am 6'3'' and 210 pounds.
We had a Stearns and Foster Rosewater Mattress that was 12 years old. It was considered a plush mattress when we bought it.
The wife started complaining so we bought a new Stearns and Foster Mattress...A Lorreteville Luxury Cushion Firm.
It slept great for 2 weeks then bent over and had a sharp pain down my back. Couldn't sleep at all then as I was sunk too deep and it was painful to try and turn over.
Returned it for a firmer Lorreteville Cushion Firm. And while the problem was less severe, I am still not sleeping well.
Tried a Sealy cushion firm and had a sharp pain down my right side. I need help.
Why can't they make them like they used to?
I would kill for my old Rosewater right now.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
I just spent $5,000 on an MRI for the back. He says it is generally ok.
I feel your pain...and so do many other people who have recently put their trust in an old, established brand that has betrayed the trust they spent decades building.
I miss the old Sealy and Stearns & Foster mattresses. We used to be a Sealy/S&F dealer.
Through 2013, you could have purchased a S&F mattress that was similar to your old one...similar in construction and durability.
Earlier that year, Tempurpedic bought the Sealy/S&F Company. And in January of 2014, the new lines were introduced, sporting lots of memory foam in almost each and every model.
It's the memory foam that is causing your difficulties.
We have since searched for and found other barnds that don't use memory foam.
And, we had learned how to get around the memory foam problem. Over the past 10 years, we've been recommending adding a 2" Soft Talalay Latex topper to mattresses that have memory foam in them.
The latex insulates you from the memory foam, absorbs much of your body weight, and provides surface comfort that takes many years before showing any signs of wear.
The major manufacturers have gone "Corporate Greed", like so many of our industries. They now make mattresses that need frequent replacing.
Using a latex topper thwarts those efforts and provides the consumer with a much longer lasting mattress than the manufacturer's intended.
If you would like to keep what you have and make it better, add the Ever-Eden 2" Soft Talalay Latex Mattress Topper to that.
Ever-Eden …100% Pure, All Natural Latex Mattress Toppers…(No Fillers, No Chemicals, No Synthetics)
If you are interested in going with a new mattress, then I'd have you take a look at the Natura Greenspring line.
This uses a twice tempered pocketed coil unit, upholstered with all natural latex. There is no memory foam and you have 5 choices of comfort.

Any kind of moisture, be it from spills, accidents or perspiration causes a mattress to wear prematurely.
