Hip Pain. Replacing a Stearns & Foster Pillowtop Mattress

I purchased my stearns and foster king pillow top about 3.5 yrs ago. 

I am still in denial about having to replace it so soon. Had some issues with sag the first year but they measured and said it was less than the 1.5" needed for an exchange. 

I loved this mattress in the beginning, and had it shipped to Florida...so it sat for almost a year with little use. 
Anyway I have finally moved and the last 4 months of full time use have been shear agony. Hip pain, toss and turn.  

I figured it was all the new muscle aches from moving and new physical activity, but I am coming to terms with the fact that it's the mattress.

S&F isn't what it used to be. Now owned by Tempurpedic, there is lots of their memory foam in every model.

For a non-spring mattress, you're looking at Latex or Memory foam.

Memory foam is a toxic, chemical based product and latex is all natural.

Hip & Shoulder Pain. Simmons Beautyrest & Latex Mattress Topper.

I currently have a very firm Serta Perfect Sleeper mattress which has sagged horribly and am making the switch to a softer mattress because of pain in my hip and shoulder. 

I have been to the stores and tried out both the S&F Luxury Plush and a Simmons World Class Beautyrest Luxury Firm. 

I can't find much on the World Class mattress and I am worried that the S&F Luxury Plush may be too soft and wear too quickly. 

I am a side sleeper primarily, 5'4, 175lbs.

Memory foam is what causes people to sleep hot, and they are putting that junk in almost everything. The key, therefore, is to insulate yourself from the memory foam in the mattress. And, in your case, a mattress that provides firm, contouring support for the scoliosis. Maintaining your spine's natural alignment is the key to keeping that nerve in the small of your back from being pinched by the vertebra...the discs between them have worn. This is a condition that only improves if you don't continually aggravate it. Walking more will help a lot.

Neck, Back, & Hip Pain. Latex Mattress Topper & Latex/Dowm Pillow.

We've had our mattress a year and we're both waking up more tired and sore achy neck, back, hips, etc. pain - each day gets worse!  

We tried a memory foam topper that worked for about two months and we finally had to get rid of that.

My husband is a large 6'1" big guy, I'm 5'6" medium build. I'm a side sleeper, he's a back sleeper, occasionally side.

Any recommendations?? and where do I go for pillow recommendations?  My husband has a sore neck that won't go away and we think it's a combo of the mattress and pillow.

It sounds like your mattress is just too firm, if that topper worked for a little while.

You bought a memory foam topper, which lasts only a short while.

What works, works well, and for many years, is a latex topper. 

Add a 3" soft Vytex Dunlop latex topper and you'll transform your mattress into an extremely comfortable bed.

While you're there, you might as well try the latex pillows. They are very soft and and very long lasting.

The Pure Bliss Latex/Down pillow is especially good for relieving chronic neck pain. It works well on my arthritic neck.

There wouldn't be an exact equivalent, after all this time.

Comparable, would be the Simmons Beautyrest World Class Santorini. The model name is different at every store, but you can find it at Macy's under the model name "Teagan".

We carry a line of two-sided mattresses that are reasonably priced and well made.

I'd suggest going with a king size in firm and adding a 3" Soft All Natural Vytex Dunlop Latex topper to that for surface comfort that lasts and for added longevity to the mattress.

The mattress is made by Wolf, a very old family owned Midwest manufacturer, (Established in 1872).

The mattress is the Tulah in firm, and uses the heaviest coil unit available...perfect for supporting a large man.

More importantly, this mattress contains zero memory foam, which wears poorly and off gasses the toxic chemicals from which it's made.
