I found your website while doing some research for replacing our current mattress. Right now, we have a Beautyrest pillowtop that's about 5 years old and it has two big indentations (no surprise there) and is starting to give me more back pain. I tend to like the softer/plush mattress and my husband doesn't care if it's like a rock or a cloud. I'm 5'5'', 135 lbs and my husband is 6'2'', 210 lbs. After reading the majority of your blog and other sites, I realize that memory foam isn't the answer. However, I have a severe latex allergy and have been advised to not get a latex mattress, topper or pillow. Where does that leave me, stuck with memory foam? I would be interested to know what your recommendation would be for the kind of mattress we should look at.
Whoever is advising you doesn't understand the nature of a latex allergy. First off, a latex allergy is topical. Your skin has to be touching it for you to react...as you would with latex gloves and bandages. Unlike the toxic fumes of memory foam, It's not an airborne allergy. There are no fumes....nothing to breath in. It's an all natural product.
I suggest looking into that, about latex. No other means of softness will hold up. Everything else will wear as yours has.
