Mattress shopping seems to be the most difficult and confusing thing. And the word "foam" is thrown out so much which made me even more confused.
Can you give me a recommendation? Here are my details:
I weigh 170 lbs
I switch between fetal position and back throughout the night
I have lower back pains
I tend to like medium firmness
At Macy's I tested the Beautyrest Recharge Plus Luxury Firm which seems to be very similar to the Recharge World Class Beautyrest Teagan Luxury Firm. Both of these seemed fine to me. I also tested the Beautyrest Black Edenton Luxury Firm which seemed to be a bit more comfortable than the previous two, but is it enough to warrant the price increase (especially if you plan to add a latex topper)?
Also, what opinion do you have on Kingsdown mattresses?

Kingsdown has one of the worst reputations in the business. Besides making a lousy product, you'll pay a premium price for it.
They specialize in limited distribution, which means there will be very few places you can go to find them in each marketplace.
This allows the retailer to mark up the prices without worry that a local competitor will have it for less.
My wife and I have a Black model...an older version of the Edenton....Ava on our website. We also have a latex topper with it.
Both, the latex topper, (now 6 years old), and the mattress, (now 4 years old), are in like new condition.
That mattress has worn so well because there has been a latex topper on it from the start.
The poly and memory foams in the mattress, do not wear well on their own. The latex topper absorbs most of our body weights, which is why it's doing so well.
As I pointed out in the previous email, the triple strand wire of the Black models is an important feature for people who are heavy.
