I live in the Philadelphia area and we have a store called 'The Dump', I was wondering if you know anything about the mattresses they sell there. For example, are they used and would you recommend buying a mattress from a place like that?
I used to live in the Philly area and remember their commercials on TV. Frankly, I was never impressed with what I heard and saw.
Unlike 10 or so years ago when most mattresses were well made, today's mattresses are not...designed to be replaced frequently.
Today's mattresses has lots of memory foam, which is the wort upholstery material on the planet.
I'd venture to say that most of the mattresses at The Dump, will be like this.
The white label at the head of the mattress will show, by percentage, the upholstery materials used inside. Memory foam is aka Visco foam.
This is what you'll want to avoid if you hold out any hope for long term quality.
Memory foam is made to sell, but won't last long at all. To add injury to insult, memory foam is comprised of many chemicals...some of which are toxic.
