I've been reading several posts on your blog and find it to be very informative!
I wanted to ask your personal and professional opinion about trying to recreate and
sustain the feeling of a luxury firm pillowtop mattress. In particular, I have been "test
sleeping" on a few mattresses in the Beautyrest Black line. I have found that I really
enjoy the comfort of the Georgianna Luxury firm as well as the Brooklyn and Leighton
firm pillowtop mattresses. However, I do know that these pillowtops are going to be
more trouble than their initial comfort is worth in the long run.
So my question is, what would be your suggestion for the ideal setup of mattresses in
the Beautyrest Black line and accompanying latex topper type and thickness to best
mimic the initial comfort felt from a Brooklyn, Leighton or Georgianna luxury firm
pillowtop mattresss (e.g. Bray with a 3" Talalay soft topper, Abriana or Ansleigh luxury
firm with a 2" Talalay soft or medium topper)?
Just for background, my wife and I are about a combined 400lbs, and I'm certainly
responsible for the bulk of that weight. We're both middle-aged and luck to be relatively
free of any back or other concerns that might impact a firmness/comfort choice. She's
a bit of a side, back and stomach sleeper, while I'm generally a back sleeper with the
occasional turn to the side.
Thanks in advance for any guidance you can offer!
