Hi Peter,
My husband and I are trying to determine which type of bed we should be targeting. My husband is 6'2 and 300 lbs; I am 5'2 and 100 lbs. The Vera Wang latex, non-flippable bed we've had for 4 years isn't cutting it. There's just not enough support for my husband and I end up rolling toward the middle because the bed sags down where he sleeps. He sleeps in the crater; I sleep on the slope. Not comfortable for either. There's got to be something strong for men his size.
We briefly looked into a Sleep Number bed that claims to be able to accommodate our different requirements, but I'm reading many negative reviews and thinking an "air" bed is not the best answer for support... especially for the price and all the mechanics. More things that will surely go wrong.
A writer wrote to you last year posing a similar question in weight differences and you recommended the Therapedic Medi-Coil Permatuft Plush with Latex, which I read you personally designed. I'd like to know why this mattress would be your objective, unbiased, expert recommendation... especially when it's only available online.
Thanks for any assistance you can provide,
Stephanie
Hi Stephanie,
Up til now, your circumstances have been among the most difficult to address. Last year, the best solution we had was the Therapedic Medi-Coil, which will hold your husband. And while that mattress would be too firm for you, the surface could always be softened with a latex topper.
Today, we have available the Reverie Latex Mattress. Using cylinders made of latex, each half of the mattress can be made to accommodate both of you...with firmer cylinders on his half and softer cylinders on your half. And, with you having the ability to unzip the top and re-arrange those cylinders any way you want to suit every body contour. It is a true innovation in mattress engineering and comes with a lifetime warranty. It's the perfect solution to solving your particular problem.
