I need a mattress for my almost 2 yr old son. I am looking for a full
size. We bought our daughter the sealy select plush euro top from
sears a few years ago (no I didn't do much research) but it has been
comfortable and held up nicely. I wanted to research my next
purchase before buying the same mattress for my son. What are your recommendations? I seems you like the simmons beautyrest
lumberton which seems like a great choice, but I was wondering if
Top Mattress is just a good for kids as well? thanks for your help!

Hi Shelley,
"Plush" Beautyrests use a very thin gauge wire for the coils. They
simply don't hold up very well....and, neither does the pillowtop part.
Soft mattresses for growing bodies is a bad choice for their long term development.
A luxury firm Beautyrest provides good, long lasting support. If you
want to soften the surface, do it with an item that can be easily and
cheaply replaced when it wears out.
Pillowtops are attached and can't be replaced without replacing the
entire mattress. Use a comforter top or just a thicker, high loft
mattress pad.
You will need a waterproof mattress pad to protect the mattress,
anyway.
The individually pocketed coils move independently from one
another, maintaining the natural alignment of the spine. This is
important for everyone, but especially critical to a body that is
growing.
Just as it isn't nice to fool Mother Nature, it isn't wise to second
guess the expert.
Here's the link to the Simmons Beautyrest Lumberton, and to some
nice quality comforters that we carry.
