Hi Joe,

The very best have been all natural latex mattresses, for the past 85 years. 

The best of the innersprings continually changes. Right now, that would be the Simmons Beautyrest Black in any of the firm or plush/firm models without a pillowtop.

Today's pillowtops wear quickly, regardless of brand...nature of the beast kind of thing.

The best buy, is a lesser expensive, good quality, basic mattress with a latex topper added for comfort that lasts.

My wife and I have slept on latex mattresses for years. Recently, we purchased a Simmons Beautyrest Black  Ansleigh model.

My wife prefers a more luxurious feel, so we've added a 2" soft Talalay latex topper to that. However, I find the mattress to be plenty comfy all by itself.

The more basic mattress with a latex topper combination, has been the most popular for us for some years now. It provides good firm support and comfortable sleeping surface that lasts...an excellent way around the longevity issues of today's one sided mattresses.
