Latex mattress topper to use with Beautyrest Elite copacabana plush pillowtop‏

How much is a soft latex topper? Our Simmons Beautyrest Elite Copacabana plush pillowtop mattress is still too firm and seems hot even though it is supposed to have the gel memory foam in the pillowtop? Would this latex topper soften and cool off this bed or should we return it? Thanks!!

A latex topper will do both, soften the surface and insulate you from the memory foam.
