I am primarily a back sleeper with occasional side sleeping and I like a firm mattress but this one seemed to have the right balance of softness and support. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find it for consumer purchase. Any recommendations as to where to purchase or a comparable consumer model?
I need my wife to try it out and get her feedback. I am 6'2 240 and she is 5'5 110 so we have to both try out the bed to make sure it is suitable for both of us. We currently have a S&F that is approaching 10 years old and starting to sag. Do we really need to replace the boxspring at the same time?
Thanks, George
Hi George,
A "plush" Simmons Beautyrest mattress will not hold up under a man your size, used every night.
The gauge of wire used in their plush models is very thin.
It's imperative that you opt for the "luxury firm" models, using the same padding but a much heavier gauge wire for the coils.
Hotel Beautyrests are Classic Series models...the lower end of the Beautyrest line.
Here's a link to the Classic Beautyrest line. It might help put things into perspective.

You will need to replace a 10 year old boxspring, without question
Thanks, Pete
