Hi,
I began with a beautyrest black which felt great but after a few months developed deep impressions (a Tempurpedic and we are light). After researching I found that this was common with these mattresses and I opted for a Tempurpedic because I wanted to avoid developing those impressions again on a spring mattress. I had purchased from a furniture store originally so was locked in to exchanging from their inventory. We started with a Tempurpedic cloud supreme which ended up being way too soft and hot (talk about sleeping in a hole). We liked a spring-free latex mattress but because we were doing an exchange they wouldn't discount it so wanted to charge us 2x what it is going for online. We ordered a Tempurpedic Contour for price reasons but I'm concerned that it will be too hard. Short of keeping it unopened and trying to sell it, I was considering putting a latex topper over it to approximate what we liked about the latex mattress. Do you think this would work? Thanks.
Hi Aaron,
It will work, but with a slight change. It'll feel more like a latex mattress if you first flip your mattress over.
Your mattress is a block of firm poly foam, topped with some memory foam. Flip the mattress over and add the topper.
Certainly, you can try it both ways, but it feels more like an all latex mattress with the memory foam side down.
2" of soft Talalay latex foam is all you need. Here's the link for that.
