Hi, We're shopping for a mattress to replace our Kluft, which has broken down after 4 years, a total piece of junk.
I have had Beautyrest in the past with good results. Last one lasted about 8 or 9 years. My husband has severe back issues, and cannot stand a sagging mattress.
We have narrowed our choices down to a Black Kameryn Firm or an Elite Madison Firm Cushion Tight top (tried both a Macy's).. Both of these mattresses offer firm core support with adequate comfort padding. I wanted to get the Black to also enjoy the air cool benefits. But I have read lots of reviews about the Black line having a higher rate of premature sagging. Definitely don't want to do that again. But the triple coil seems like it should be stronger and not sag, so I'm confused.
Which of these 2 beds do you think will hold up better? Is one better recommended for bulging and herniated discs?
Thank you, Sandy
Hi Sandy,
What sells, are the plush pillowtops. Those are also the ones that sag so quickly. Complaints about the firmer models are few.
The Black models, using the triple strand "Cable" coil are very strong. It isn't the coils that sag, but the soft padding.
The Kameryn firm, same as our Ansleigh plush/firm is one of the better beds on the market.
Here's a link to that mattress.

The Elite Madison Avenue cushion firm is the same as our Southover plush/firm
You'll notice a marked difference in price. Each is a good choice for its price point, but there's no question that the Black is the better mattress.
Compare the specs. and the price.

I am debatting between the beautyrest Elite eminnece pillowtop firm at Macys, they have for an additional $700 the stern and foster Firm Euro pillow top that is $300 more. I don't want to sag in a year of two.
Thanks
Hi,
If you don't want it to sag, you don't want a Pillowtop. Read about pillowtops.

You will want a firm tight top and add a 2"layer of soft latex...if you want a comfortable sleeping surface that won't sag in a year or two.
