Hello! My husband is 6' 185 lbs and I am 5'7 125 lbs. For almost 8 years we have owned a Restonic Memory Foam mattress with 2' memory foam and 5' HD foam. After the first 3 years we had the company repair it because the dip was so big in the middle it was difficult to get out of it. My husband likes the bed still. I find it uncomfortable, especially for my back. My feet seem much lower than my head, and I think the bed has simply lost its memory.
At a department store in Kansas we discovered and both liked the Stearns and Foster Wanda (European pillow top firm.) I felt like I could breathe better just briefly laying on it. I gratefully discovered your website today which is very educational. I'm a bit timid buying a mattress over the internet, but I am interested in getting your opinion. Any recommendations?
I would think you'd be more leery of buying in a store. You, obviously, aren't getting proper information from the store's salespeople...or you wouldn't have purchased a memory foam mattress to begin with....and you wouldn't be asking me for advice. All of our mattresses are first quality and freshly made to fill your order.
When you try a floor sample, it's already broken in. When you get your new one delivered, it often doesn't feel like the floor sample...so, what's the attraction exactly?
The Wanda is referred to as the P level, by S&F. The model name is different at every store. We have is as the "Twila". It has S&F's best specification...as long as you don't get the pillowtop. Pillowtops lose their shape much too quickly and it doesn't matter how well the bed is made. It's a problem with all pillowtops.
You're better off getting the tight top model and adding your own latex foam mattress topper...something that you can replace for a whole lot less than it'll cost you to replace the entire mattress.
