Thanks for your prompt, knowledgeable and informative reply.The bed that I owned prior to the Castle Hill Ltd was a Sealy Posturpedic Shangrila double pillow top.It was almost as comfortable as the Spring Crossing. I was told to give this bed a trial of 2 weeks before I decided to replace it. Although I am sleeping better that I did the first night I still feel that the bed is too firm. I like support married with comfort. Knowing that, do you have any suggestions for my replacement?

The problem with soft mattresses, is that the padding compresses easily, leaving you with a deep body impression. And once the padding compresses, it's not soft anymore...and you are back to square one. Except now, the mattress is also out of shape.
It would be better for you to keep the firm mattress and add a topper to soften the top.
There are lots of different types. Most, like poly and memory foam, which are the same materials used in softer mattresses, will also lose their shape quickly.
But now, you can replace them cheaply and still have a mattress providing the firm support your body needs.
The best material available for the job is latex. Soft latex is extremely comfortable and will keep its shape and comfort for many years. Latex is rubber and a whole lot more resilient than any of the other foams. Latex has been the best material available since the 1920s. Nothing has been made that comes anywhere near it in quality.
Two inches of soft latex will give you everything you want, without sacrificing the firm support you need.
