Best quality mattress for extra large (plus size) people

I have recently married. My husband is a tall and large man,6'5" 350 pounds. I am 5'5" and weigh around 265. he has a memory foam bed that, to get out of, you have to fight your way out of, like being sunk in quick sand. We are looking to replace the bed but are unsure which way to go. We have looked at the non-plush firm versions of S&F and are leaning in that direction but I am reading some really bad reviews on them. What is your recommendation? We have to have a King sized set and it needs to be durable as we won't be replacing it for at least 8 years.
