Hi Pete,
Thanks for the quick response. Norman is his first name, and no, no relation that we know of. Spelled the same though. So we are probably best suited to look in the Reserve series. The one we slept on was at a resort in Aruba and according to the tag it had a mfg date of 2008 so it had some use on it already but it did have about a 2” pillowtop on it. But you recommend a plush tight top?? The levels (9 and 7) that you are referring to; are those used in all stores? Is a salesperson going to know what I am talking about if I mention this? Also, even though each store has their own names, wouldn’t there be some kind of consistent ID on the mattress. Does sealy manufacturing really customize a tag for each dealer or is there some kind of identifier on the tag that could be compared from store to store? i.e. model 12345 is known as X at 1 dealer and Y at another dealer, but if you know what you are looking for you could just look for 12345??
Also, if we were to buy from you guys, what kind of return / exchange policy is there. We NEED to get the right bed and we are getting discouraged at this whole process. We did actually contact the local sealy hospitality rep and gave them the same info and found that the dynasty model has been discontinued and replaced with the monogram. So based on their advice we purchased a monogram 600 plush from them and that did not work. The good new is that our son just moved from a toddler bed to a full we are able to use the mattress that we bought but now we don’t know what to do. We think we may end up testing a couple, but many of the stores only let you exchange once if at all and we really want a Cal King (I am 6’4”) and they typically don’t exchange those at all since they are a “special order”. Looking for any advice/help/encouragement. Thanks for the help.
Eric & Emily
Hi Eric and Emily,
In what way did the Monogram plush not work for you?
When you buy from a store that offers a comfort exchange, you stand a pretty good chance of having a returned mattress delivered to you. The factories do not take those back.
The industry goes to a great deal of trouble to make shopping as difficult as possible. Knowing the series name and the level number is knowing precisely how that bed is identified by Sealy. Cooperative sales people...those willing to pull back the curtain of mystery that they work so hard to protect, are hard to find.
Thanks, Pete
