A Stearns & Foster Blisswood plush mattress

I'm shopping for a king mattress and, like so many other people, am thoroughly confused. I like a fairly plush mattress, but with support, and I don't like to sleep hot. I do plan on using a latex topper rather than getting a pillowtop mattress. On the 1-10 comfort scale, I guess I'd be looking in the 6-7 range? Could you make a recommendation of a good mattress that I won't have to replace in just a few years? I'd like to keep the price in the $1000 range, but might fo higher if I find one I love. If it matters any, it will be on a platform bed. Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Without any other specifics, try the Stearns & Foster Blisswood in a luxury plush. It's well made and pretty comfortable as is. A latex topper would make it extremely comfy.
The price of the king mattress only is $1060...with free delivery and no sales tax.

Memory Works Mattress Sets

Wasn't sure where to send questions to but I wondering what you think of the Memory works Mattress Sets at Macys. We are 35 years old, healthy. We are both sensitive to dust and dust mites. We love the feel of the foam but want to buy a solid bed that will last 20 years this time around. I'd like a bed that isn't full of crazy chemicals and glue since we will have a baby soon :) Any advice or input would be very appreciated. We plan to buy this week.

The Memory Works is not really different from a Tempurpedic or a Sealy Embody or any other mattress that is a few inches of memory foam sitting on a few inches of poly foam.
They all have chemicals. They do nothing to repel dust mites and none of them last very long.
There's a difference between being warrantied to be free from defects for 20 years and actually lasting that long.
This would be Macy's attempt to grab a share of the Tempurpedic market...with Tempurpedic doing the most advertising.
It's a monumental waste of money...as are all memory foam mattresses.

Simmons NxG 250 mattress

We also took a look at the 250 but I'm a bit apprehensive about sleeping on a thick coat of foam. What about the Simmons NXG 100F? Do you consider it too firm?                                                            My husband is 270 and I'm 145.

The 250 is only an inch and a half thicker. The luxury firm model would have been ideal for his weight.

Sealy Posturepedic Harbor House Ultra Plush Mattress

Bought the Sealy Posturepedic Harbor House Ultra Plush mattress in May 2010. Run away ... do not walk. It was defective and you sink far in. Never had a bad back -- now its gone from painful back to also painful neck. They will not exchange it. And it cost a pretty penny!

Your mistake was in choosing the "ultra plush". The padding in ultra plush beds compresses much too easily.
The queen set sells for $744...and that's after a recent price increase from the factory. In May it sold for $674.
Did you over pay?

Weston Heavenly Bed, Simmons Hotel Mattress

I purchased the westin hotel heavenly bed mattress by simmons in 2005 from Nordstroms and recently had it replaced not so much due to the dips but rather due to a coil that was not working properly (making a grinding noise and did not spring back up properly and I felt it )The new one is very hard and firm and they said it needs 6-8 weeks to break in ,also the ticking feels rougher then the original. Any thoughts

Materials used in mattresses change over the years. Replacement mattresses are rarely equal.
Firmer is better than softer because you can always soften the surface with a topper to make it more comfortable. There's nothing you can do with one that isn't firm enough.
It does take time for a new mattress to loosen up.

Down to 3 S&F mattresses

I've narrowed mattress search to 3 mattresses made by Stearns & Foster. The Camdenhurst Luxury Plush and the Berkley Square Luxury Plush or Berkley Square Luxury Firm. If you have comparative models, could you please define the differences between each. Also a firmness rating and cross-section suggestion for each. Thank You

The Berkely Square and the Camdenhurst are the same...."H" grade...available in your choice of luxury plush and luxury firm...with and without a pillowtop. We have it as the Blisswood. Macy's has it as the Endlish Meadow.
There is no industry standard for the firmness rating you see. They are all subjective to the one listing them. I suggest you forget about that which only adds confusion to an already confusing purchase.

S&F Foxbridge mattress on adjustable base

I recently purchased a Leggett & Platt bed. I also purhased the Stearns & Foster Foxbridge matress. The salesman assured me this mattress would work well with the L&P bed, I would like to know if this is true or just salesman-speak.

The S&F is made with a border rod that goes around the coils and the foam edge is attached to that.
Once that rod bends, you won't be able to bend it back.
This is not a mattress I would recommend for use with an adjustable bed.

S&F Eureka Springs LF mattress

It could be your pillow and I'd suggest trying a thin one before going to the expense of an exchange.
Firmer mattresses are a good match for stomach sleepers. They keep your hip area from sinking, which maintains the natural arch in the small of your back.
If you're using a thicker pillow, you'll raise your upper body...and in doing so, exaggerate that arch.
The mattress you bought is a good one. It comes with and without a pillowtop. The tight top is better than the pillowtop...especially for a stomach sleeper.

How does the Kingsdown Sleep to Live line compare with the Stearns and Foster Heritage mattress?

Both that you've mentioned are a total waste of money....designed to separate the wealthy from it.
Simply put, they are a fool's buy.
