Hello Peter,After much research, shopping, and blogging we purchased a Sealy Posturepedic Reserve Cushion Firm mattress. Both my husband and I agree that the mattress is much firmer than the one we tried, on several different occassions, in the store. We have slept on the mattress one night, but noticed the difference immediately. Is there a logical reason for this, and do you have any recommendations? I checked the label on the mattress...it is labled reserve cushion firm. We did purchase the mattress from a family owned reputable store.Thank you.
Hi Susan. The mattesses on show room floors have been bounced on by all kinds of people and are broken in. New mattresses are always a little stiffer because the padding is unused. Your mattress needs to break in and it will feel more like it did in the showroom. A topper or thicker mattress pad will help cushion it a little in the meantime.
