Kim of Washington, DC, writes: Hi, I currently own the Sealy Posture Premier McClellan. Unfortunately, a pipe had a hole in my ceiling, flooded, and then went through my bed. By the time the flooding stopped, there was an inch of water in about a 24 x 24 space. So the first question I have and think I know the answer to is: Should I replace the mattresses? I'm concerned about mildew/mold growing in them. Secondly, if so, what mattress should I purchase. I liked the feel of the McClellan but understand from your website it might be an inferior mattress (I hadn't realized it wasn't a posturepedic). I have a $900 budget. Thanks!
Hi Kim, There's no way to salvage that mattress. The bacteria that will grow in it now, will have ever worsening consequences for your health. Look for a Posturepedic. There are plenty in the new line that are in your price range. At this particular time, there should be stores that still have stock of the older Posturepedics. If you call around, you may still be able to hunt down a bargain on the older models. www.sealy.com and your zip code will get you every Sealy dealer in your area. These bargains on old stock and floor samples will only last a short while.
